Pop Star Assassin Vol. 1

The year is 1977. The King is dead, and the world mourns. But…When a mysterious briefcase turns up in his dressing room, Bruce, a coke-addled Elvis impersonator finds himself wedged between a Mob boss out to avenge the death of his only son, and a government conspiracy with far-reaching, world-ending ramifications, all in an attempt to discover the true identity of his father’s killer.

Questioning whether or not his entire life up until that moment has been a lie, Bruce sets out on a mission to discover the truth behind his own identity and that of his father. His mission throws him headlong into the heart of a government conspiracy perpetrated by a shadow agency known as «The Chamber». Their endgame: world domination at the hands of an unstoppable army of dead celebrity Look-A-Like™ robot assassins.

With his life unraveling around him, Bruce joins forces with a rag-tag troupe of unlikely misfits willing to do whatever it takes to uncover the truth behind The Chamber, and make those responsible pay. Fighting their way to The Chamber’s inner sanctum, Bruce and company set into motion a chain of events that lead them to a final confrontation with the mysterious, nigh-omnipotent figure, Nietzsche. The encounter forever transforms Bruce and leaves him a marked man on the run.

Here’s what people are saying about Pop Star Assassin:

“POP STAR ASSASSIN is action-packed in the most literal sense, and in ways that you really don’t see in comics. The art, by Marcelo Basile, keeps pace nicely, communicating the nonstop action and introducing us to countless unique characters (not to mention carrying us through a couple of bad trips). It reminds me of the best of 2000 AD, and that’s a compliment. It’s UNHINGED, but in all the BEST ways.”
– B CLAY MOORE, HAWAIIAN DICK, MILES TO GO, BATTLE HYMN

“POP STAR ASSASSIN is a delightfully 70’s Fremont Street fever dream. Elvis’s illegitimate son Kung Fu grips you from page one, then drags you kicking and screaming through Las Vegas at its dirtiest. The book is a TON of FUN. Made me want a bag full of LEMON GRENADES.”
– DENNIS “HOPELESS” HALLUM, X-MEN, SEA OF STARS,SPIDER-WOMAN

“Pull out your best vinyl Elvis record and drop the needle, open up that pin up of Norma Jean, load your pistol and take a trip to another time and space where sin city and science fiction mix together like a well built VODKA MARTINI OF DEATH. Yeah, I enjoyed the MADNESS that isPOP STAR ASSASSIN, and you will too!”
– JIMMY PALMIOTTI, HARLEY QUINN, JONAH HEX,PAINKILLER JANE

“Taking a creative dive into classic American Pop Culture tropes while telling a wild tale of 70’S VEGAS is brilliant. The color palette blends seemlessly with the visuals pulling you into this FEVER DREAM by the throat and doesn’t let go until the last page is read.» Most comics bore me with how fucking serious they are. POP STAR ASSASSIN, brought a smile to my face.”
– ZACH HOWARD, HELLBOY, THE CAPE, WILD BLUE YONDER
